Worth knowing
What these cars actually need.
The M96 and M97 engines in the 996, 997 and early Boxster and Cayman have known failure points — IMS bearing, rear main seal, bore scoring. Knowing what to check, and when it genuinely matters rather than when the internet says it does, is the difference between a sensible car and an expensive one.
A 993 or a 964 is not a modern car with older parts. Valve adjustments, carburettor or CIS fuel systems, and a cooling system that relies on tin and fan shrouds being correct all take a different approach. We keep the cars original where you want them original.
EVs need less, but they still need brake fluid, coolant, tyres, alignment and cabin filters, and the brakes in particular suffer from regeneration doing most of the stopping. We service them alongside everything else.
The alternative
Dealer-level work, without the dealership.
The nearest Porsche dealer is a drive and a wait. We’re independent, in Belmont, and you talk to the technician who worked on your car rather than a service advisor reading from a screen.
Routine maintenance here often comes in at about half what a dealer charges. Same fluids, same specifications, same documentation \u2014 you are simply not paying for the showroom.
Most services and brake jobs are a day or two. Where a part has to come from overseas we say so before the car comes apart, not after.
Federal law protects this, and we document every job so it can be proved. Your service history stays complete and the car stays saleable.
Where we are
Porsche service across the Peninsula.
We’re on Old County Road in Belmont, a few minutes off the 101 and the 280, and we look after Porsches from across the Peninsula — San Mateo, San Carlos, Redwood City, Burlingame, Hillsborough, Menlo Park, Atherton, Palo Alto and Woodside. Most owners find the drive here shorter than the trip to a dealer, and considerably shorter than the wait once they arrive.

FAQ
What Porsche owners ask us.
Will servicing my Porsche here affect the factory warranty?
No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because an independent shop carried out the maintenance. We service to factory intervals, use the correct parts and fluids, and document every job so your service history stands up.
How does the cost compare with the dealer?
Routine maintenance on a Porsche is often around half what a dealer charges, and sometimes less. Same fluids, same specifications, same documentation — the difference is that you are not funding a showroom and a service advisor.
How long will you have the car?
Most scheduled services and brake jobs are a day or two rather than the week or more a dealership often needs. Where a part has to come from overseas we will tell you that up front rather than after the car is apart.
Do you use genuine parts?
Genuine or OE-equivalent as standard, and we will tell you which we are proposing and why. Where a quality aftermarket option genuinely makes sense we will offer it as a choice rather than substituting it quietly.
Can you inspect a Porsche before I buy it?
Yes, and it is money well spent on these cars. We put it on a lift, read the fault history, check the service record against what the car actually shows, and tell you plainly what you would be taking on.
