Worth knowing
What these cars actually need.
The monocell means these cars are structurally unusual, and it changes how they are lifted, supported and aligned. Getting that right is basic competence, but it is worth knowing your shop has thought about it before the car goes on a lift.
The interlinked hydraulic suspension on the Super Series cars is not a conventional damper setup, and diagnosing it by feel does not work. Faults get traced properly before anything is replaced.
A large share of what brings these cars in is electrical or software rather than mechanical. We trace faults to the cause rather than replacing modules and hoping, which is the expensive way to arrive at the same answer.
The alternative
Dealer-level work, without the dealership.
The nearest McLaren dealer is a drive and a wait. We’re independent, in Belmont, and you talk to the technician who worked on your car rather than a service advisor reading from a screen.
Routine maintenance here often comes in at about half what a dealer charges. Same fluids, same specifications, same documentation \u2014 you are simply not paying for the showroom.
Most services and brake jobs are a day or two. Where a part has to come from overseas we say so before the car comes apart, not after.

What McLaren owners ask us.
Will servicing my McLaren here affect the factory warranty?
No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because an independent shop carried out the maintenance. We service to factory intervals, use the correct parts and fluids, and document every job so your service history stands up.
How does the cost compare with the dealer?
Routine maintenance on a McLaren is often around half what a dealer charges, and sometimes less. Same fluids, same specifications, same documentation — the difference is that you are not funding a showroom and a service advisor.
How long will you have the car?
Most scheduled services and brake jobs are a day or two rather than the week or more a dealership often needs. Where a part has to come from overseas we will tell you that up front rather than after the car is apart.
Do you use genuine parts?
Genuine or OE-equivalent as standard, and we will tell you which we are proposing and why. Where a quality aftermarket option genuinely makes sense we will offer it as a choice rather than substituting it quietly.
Can you inspect a McLaren before I buy it?
Yes, and it is money well spent on these cars. We put it on a lift, read the fault history, check the service record against what the car actually shows, and tell you plainly what you would be taking on.
