FAQ
Got more questions?
Will performance work void my factory warranty?
Not automatically. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act a manufacturer has to show that a modification actually caused the failure before denying a claim — fitting coilovers doesn’t void your engine warranty. We document what we install so that connection can be argued if it ever needs to be.
Why won’t the dealer do this work?
A franchise workshop exists to return the car to factory specification. That’s the job, and they do it well. Anything the factory didn’t intend sits outside what they’re set up or permitted to fit, which is why performance work ends up with independents.
What is corner balancing, and do I need it?
It’s adjusting the suspension so weight sits evenly across all four corners, measured on scales with fuel and driver aboard. Without it a car can turn in differently left and right. It matters if you track the car or you’ve fitted coilovers; on a stock road car it’s rarely worth it.
Do I need a big brake kit?
Probably not, if you’re asking. Most road cars run out of pad and fluid before they run out of caliper, and better pads with fresh high-temperature fluid solve more problems than more pistons do. If you’re running track days and boiling fluid, that’s a different conversation — and we’ll have it honestly.
Can you set the car up for track and still keep it usable on the road?
Usually, and it’s the most common request. Alignment, spring rates and pad compound all involve a compromise, so tell us the split — mostly road with occasional track days is a very different setup from the reverse.
