Which rulebook do you build cages to?
Tell us the sanctioning body and class before we start — NHRA, FIA, SCCA and NASA all specify different tube diameters, wall thicknesses, bar counts and mounting requirements, and the NHRA spec tightens as your ET drops. Building to the wrong book means a cage that fails tech.
Can you certify my existing cage?
Certification itself is issued by the sanctioning body’s tech inspectors, not by a fabrication shop. What we do is build and repair to the published spec, document the materials and welds, and prepare the car so it passes inspection. If your existing cage is close but not compliant, we’ll tell you what needs changing.
What materials do you weld?
4130 chromoly, DOM mild steel and aluminium. Which one is right depends on your rulebook and your budget — chromoly is lighter and stronger but costs more and is less forgiving to weld, and some classes require mild steel regardless.
Will a cage make my street car uncomfortable?
It can, and it’s worth being honest about that before you commit. A full cage in a street car means harder ingress, bars near your head, and a real need for a helmet if the bars are close. We’ll talk through bolt-in bars, weld-in cages and half-cages so you pick the one that matches how the car actually gets used.
